Publication of GP net earnings 2017/18 (April 2017 – March 2018)

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The figure calculated includes only core NHS income (it excludes, for example, dispensing income, private drugs and external appointments) and is split between the number of GPs who worked at the practice for more than six months regardless of whether they were full or part-time. The figures are not pro-rata for whole time and do not represent the actual earnings of a GP. The merger of Unity Health and Wellington House took place in October 2017; for this year only, therefore, we need to publish separate figures for the two practices.

The average pay for GPs working in Unity Health in the last financial year (year ended 30th September 2017) was £58,548 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs and 6 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.

The average pay for GPs working in Wellington House in the last financial year (year ended 30th September 2017) was £84,151 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 7 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
